offhand shot that went away on wild boar weighing 150lbs, into right ham, completely shattering hip joint , and moving forward, taking out the right lung, stopping the bullet in the second rib bone. The hog ran 50 yards and was smashed up. The shot was at 65 yards. The Barnes 25.06 load penetrates as an 270 or 30.06.

I’ve hunted with Barnes TTSX bullets for several years, they are extremely accurate and my custom 25-06 has taken multiple animals at long range with them

It is my only round I utilize in Weatherby Vanguard S2 .25-06. about 1/2 MOA, typically using cloverleafing three round groups from 100 up to 200 and close to reaching 300. Game performance? I’ve not lost an animal that I’ve shot Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer Pronghorns and coyotes… I’ve even considered shooting the elk… however, I’m not able to throw a superlight bullet at one. However , the performance of the 300WSM 165Gr vor-TX ammo was a disaster on my elk last year , even although it appears to be loaded quite hot. (Sticky bolt after shooting however no pressure indications).

I’ve shot this ammunition on a variety of hogs and deer, and it has not failed me.They do not DRT or go just a few feet .They also are extremely accurate.I shoot them in a variety of calibers and have the similar results.Several relatives use them as well. To me, they’re the most effective.

I’ve used these round to kill five animals using an Weatherby Vanguard S2. Accuracy was about .75 MoA when viewed from 100 feet away from the bench, with velocity that was within 10 FPS +/- of advertised 3225 FPS from the 24 inch barrel. The game’s performance was amazing! Two Texas whitetails as well as 2 Wyoming Antelope, and a coyote in one shot. With a properly placed lung shot (Broadside) extremely (and I’m not just saying very) minimal damage to the flesh, however, there was a massive destruction of the organs of the body. I’ll utilize these beginning from now in all calibers I shoot. I was a long-time fan of ballistic tips because of their accuracy, however I hated the collateral injury… No more! They perform as do the BTs and even more meat to be served!
