I tried this with the SIG P290, which has the 2.9 inches barrel. It worked flawlessly with a reasonable recoil. But even in a lit area, it was extremely bright , and could be blinding in a dark room in the night.

I tried this ammo as I would any other ammunition I have, which is by chronographing the average of 5 shots and firing into 4 layer water jugs made of denim to determine expansion. It’s calibrated at 1,120 FPS. I was able to get a five shot average of just 1,033 FPS with an 4-” barrel. It also went right through six water jugs, which showed massive overpentration but the absence of expansion. It could be have the lowest power ammo you can get if you buy this ammo.

I used this in a SIG P290 with a 2.9 inch barrel. It functioned perfectly with a very reasonable recoil. But even in a well lighted range the muzzle flash was very bright and probably would have been blinding if used in a dark house at night.

There are a small selection of 9mm rounds I consider fit for protection of my life. It’s one. The 9mm was created to shoot this type of bullet. The 147gr. is a bit more powerful however it is slower to exit the barrel. I’ve shot cantaloupes but the only thing remaining was the juice. I once shot a rabbit and the only thing left were leg bones and blood. They’re not expensive and I’ve never experienced an issue with a jam, misfire or any other malfunction or issue with one of the 9mm guns I own that I have used this round.

I load the Glock 17 with this stuff every time I go out hunting southern California. I use it as a protection arm, since there are cougars in our area. The reason I choose to use it is due to the fact that a hunting acquaintance of mine killed an mule deer in a 4×4 vehicle a some time ago, and needed to locate it. When he finally stumbled to the animal, a large female cougar was savoring the kill. He spooked the cougar, and she swarmed right at him. He emptied four rounds of JHP, a Federal JHP 124gr and then dropped her two feet away from where he was standing. This is all I need to prove that this shot works.
